Five cameras were dropped from the 27th floor (Raiatea) of the Matavai tower in Waterloo.
Four of the cameras were positioned in a cruciform pattern, providing a crude panoramic coverage of the environment, whilst the fifth camera faced down.
The cameras begin transmission / recording when power is supplied and cease to record when the majority of the units are destroyed ( upon hitting the ground).
The resulting footage provides a dissected panoramic representation of the fall where the multiple viewpoints are designed to counteract the singular point of view that suggests one person’s experience. With five cameras simultaneously recollecting the same fall, the viewer is the only point of stillness in the equation and witnesses the world falling before them. |
